The phrase was popularized by Architect - Designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886 - 1969).

He believed that elegance did not derive from abundance. Mies’s sophisticated presentation masked the fact that his furniture / spaces / buildings were simple, efficient yet sophisticated.

"Less is more" is key to 'Sustainable Design & Engineering'. The Concept:
