An 8 year old load bearing residential structure existed on site.

A Feasibility Study was conducted to understand the advantages - disadvantages of the following options: 

​

Option A: Completely demolish and rebuild anew. 

Option B: Strategically demolish to introduce a columnar framework to support new construction above.  

​

Option B was chosen. 

​

The refurbished  Ground Floor become an independent rentable unit; while the First and Second Floors were accessed by an external staircase.

​

The end product - a VASTU complaint, well - lit, well - ventilated, cheerful cotemporary unit.
